Camp by the tranquil, clear waters of Bairds Creek home of the Forest Kingfisher “Yindilli”
CAMPING FACILITIES
Yindilli Camping ground is about an hour’s drive from Bloomfield on the CREB Track (approx. 26 kms) or 2hrs from Daintree Village (approx. 38 kms).The CREB Track is 4WD only access. The camp offers toilet/shower facilities, fireplaces (for cooking etc), dry firewood, walking tracks to Bairds Creek for swimming in crystal clear mountain waters and grassed camp sites .
Note: Yindilli Camping Ground caters only to those with their own camping gear/food supplies etc.
Cost: $30.00 per vehicle, per night.
GUIDED WALKS
All guided walks are accompanied by CJ Fischer, a Kuku Yalanji Elder and Buru Traditional Owner.
Rainforest Walk: Approx. 2hr walk through nearby rainforest and includes: a ’welcome’ smoke ceremony, stories & identification of bush tucker, damper & tea. Tour length: 3.5hrs
Cost: $60 Adult, $30 for students (with an adult) & Free for children under 10 yrs
Cultural Sites Walk: A full day experience. Approx. 1 hr walk to a site of cultural & spiritual significance to the Kuku Yalanji people. Includes a ‘welcome’ smoke ceremony, stories, face & body painting with traditional clays, bush tucker demonstrations and bathing in the healing waters of the pristine Meg River. Also included is a picnic lunch & refreshments. Tour length: 6hrs
Cost: $130 Adult, $65 for students (with an adult) & Free for children under 10yrs.
